You can take flights direct from some major US cities right into Dublin-some of these flights may stop for a short layover at Shannon airport on the west coast of Ireland too, but that is common. Most flights from the US will leave sometime in the late evening and arrive in the morning due to the time difference; Ireland is in the same time zone as Greenwich mean time, which is five hours ahead of the Eastern time zone in USA. Jet lag will usually affect everyone a bit, and it is worse usually flying to Europe from USA and easier flying back from Europe to USA. Since the wedding is on Tuesday with a Monday night barbecue for everyone, we suggest that you try to fly in sometime over the weekend in order to give your body some time to catch up and get used to the new time zone. Checked luggage for international flights is usually limited to two pieces per each person weighing a maximim of 50 pounds each. Hand luggage rules are the same in general.
You can look for flights online at Expedia and Travelocity or any other of the online flight searches. Flights tend to be fairly expensive about eight months before your planned dates, then they tend to decrease in price until about two months before an event, and then within two months of a trip it is sort of a crapshoot about what sort of price you are going to get (high or low.)
Aer Lingus would be the main carrier to Ireland from most major cities in the USA; they provide a decent service and you'll probably get your first taste of the Irish accent from some of their flight attendants. The food, prices, service, and airplanes aren't usually the best though.
American Airlines is usually the cheapest way to get to Ireland from the states, but their food and planes arent really much to write home about either.
Northwest / KLM usually has the best options as far as food, service, and airplanes flying from USA to Ireland, but they don't fly direct so you will probably have to fly to continental Europe and connect from there.

Ellers får man lov at betale ekstra.
